October Meeting Recap

club-update

In October we celebrated our Club's 1 year anniversary. Our charter was approved on October 5, 2020. Thanks to all our members we have achieved quite a lot in the first year. You have increased our membership from 22 to 69. There were four new members attending the meeting for the first time.

The NFRW policy on endorsing candidates was shared with our members. Members as individuals may support a candidate of their choosing, however, no endorsement should be given when there are two or more known Republicans in the same race. For any other race there is no endorsement prohibition, i.e. only one Republican in the race.

This prohibition applies to only two people, the President and the Campaign Activities positions and the club as an entity. The rest of the membership is free to endorse the Republican candidate of her choice, just not in the name of the club.

When a race is contested the club may distribute information on all the candidates, such as events or fundraisers.

Our December meeting will be December 14 and will be a luncheon from 11:30 – 2 PM at Valentino's Eatery in Florence. Pinal Co Sheriff Mark Lamb is our featured speaker. Join us for live auction items, baskets and our member, Annice Jones, playing Christmas carols on her violin.
Our new website was introduced to members. Visit https://QCSTVRepublicanWomen.com to get all the latest information on your club. Gayle Peters led the project with much assistance from Monica Parker and Michele Wilkerson.

Our two speakers, Retired Mick McGuire, candidate for US Senate and Tom Horne, candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction were very informative, answering members many questions.

Be sure to plan on attending our November 9th meeting to hear US Senate candidate Jim Lamon and Matt Salmon, candidate for AZ Governor.
